• I have tested this TWRP on my k4 note for about 5 times and found this TWRP to be free from all the problems.
• You have to perform this action of installing TWRP on your own risk. Sometimes, user gets stuck in boot loop.
• Make sure your Model Number is A7010a48. It does not work for a 2GB variant of Lenovo k4 note.
• The Fingerprint scanner will stop working if you are running an android version of a lollipop 5.0.1 or below. The sensor is not stopped permanently, if you upgrade your android to marshmallow or nougat then sensor starts working again.

• You must unlock the bootloader on Lenovo Vibe k4 Note.
• Download the Recovery image-Click here to download recovery
• Download the Kingroot app from its official website.
• Download the RashR app from play store.

1. The first step is to root your k4 note. There are many methods to root k4 note, let us go with the easiest procedure. If your phone is running on android lollipop then download kingroot application. 
2. Kingroot is an apk file which is not available on play store. Before installing the kingroot app, go to settings and then go to security and enable the unknown sources.
3. Install the app and then click on try root on your display. Your phone may reboot once during the process.
4. After rooting process is completed, you will receive a confirmation message on the screen.
5. You can check if your device is rooted or not by just downloading an app called Root Checker from Play Store and click on verify root. If you have followed the above procedure properly then you receive a confirmation in root checker app saying "Device is successfully rooted".
6. Download and save your recovery image file to your SD card.
7. Open the RashR app and select install "Recovery from storage" and select recovery image that you have saved in SD card.
8. When prompted on screen, tap on Reboot.
9. Your phone will boot into recovery mode which in this case is TWRP.
10. Enjoy TWRP recovery on Lenovo Vibe K4 note!

Issues of Android Nougat 7.1

• Battery Drain-Many Android N users are facing the heavy drain after the nougat update. However, it can be fixed with some hidden tweaks.
• Night Mode not working- To enable the night mode, you need to download an app called Night Mode Enable from the play store.
• Some of the apps do not support the multi-window feature. 
• Video flicker which is recorded through the default camera.
• Phone keeps restarting when you turn on or off the toggles in the notification tiles.
• Bluetooth keeps disconnecting when connected to Bluetooth speakers.

PRE-REQUISITES:

Requirements:

1. Official Stock Rom of Lenovo k4 note-Click here to download
2. MTK drivers for your version of windows.
3. A Windows PC with windows XP SP2 or higher. This method will not work on Mac.

INSTALL DRIVERS:

• Extract  the Stock ROM from the folder. 
• Open SP flash tool folder and select SP flash tool right-click on it and select as administrator.
• Click on Browse file and select Scatter file.
• Click on download only and select Format all+download from various options.

• Click on download on the top left-hand corner.
• Connect your smartphone (Make sure it is switched off) to the computer. It will be detected by your  PC and start installing stock ROM. In case it is not detected by the computer then after connecting your phone press both the volume keys and power button simultaneously for about 5 to 10 seconds.
• Once the  download is completed a green checkbox will appear in SP flash tool which means installation is completed.
• Enjoy now! Now you have successfully installed the stock ROM and your smartphone is unbricked.

• Backup the data in advance because this process will delete all the data from your device.
• Unlock k4 notes bootloader as it allows you to flash the flashable zip files.
• Flash the custom recovery TWRP on the k4 note because this recovery is responsible for installing android nougat on your k4 note.
• A windows PC or laptop. This method does not work on mac OS. 

• Lineage OS ROM based on Android N 7.1.1
• G Apps(Arm 64 7.1)

1. Download the zip files of ROM and G Apps from above and save them to your memory card.
2. Switch off k4 note and press volume up key, volume down key and the power key at the same time for about 10-15 seconds. This will take your android phone into TWRP recovery mode.
   
   
   
3. Tap on backup and swipe to backup the data. If you do not like the ROM or if anything goes wrong, you can recover it back through this. 
4. Tap on the wipe and then click on the advanced wipe, now select Dalvik, Data, Internal Storage, and Cache. Swipe at the bottom to wipe. This will clean the memory of your k4 note.
5. Go back and tap on install and select the first zip file of Lineage OS ROM, swipe at the bottom to flash. 
6. After the installation is finished, go back and select the second downloaded zip file of G-Apps and swipe at the bottom to flash. The flashing will take around ten minutes. This G apps zip file contain all the google application which includes google chrome, play store, hangouts and so on. 
7. Click on reboot system and your k4 note will be booted into lineage OS. The first boot may take longer so do not disturb it. 
   

• This method is only for solving the problem of invalid IMEI on android phones. If you misuse this method to change IMEI of stolen phone then you may land in the court of law.
• Warranty will be void during this method.
• This tutorial is for educational purpose.
• This method is only for devices with Mediatek processor. If you try this method on devices with other processor then it may not work and you may end up bricking your phone.

• MTK smartphone drivers must be installed on your  windows.
• Stock ROM of your smartphone.
• Maui META application on your windows.
• A windows PC or laptop. This tutorial will not work on Mac computers.
• Your phones battery should be more than 60% for this method to work perfectly.

• STOCK ROM of your smartphone. (For instance if you use Lenovo K4 note search for "Stock ROM for Lenovo K4 Note) Most of the Stock ROM can be found on needrom.com which provide numerous ROMS for almost all the android smartphones which are available in the market.

1. Power off the Smartphone.
2. Open Maui META application. Go to Options<<Connect Smartphone into META mode.
3. Click on Reconnect and connect your smartphone to PC.
4. Your smartphone will be taken into META Mode Now. If it does not boot into META mode then check all the drivers are installed properly.
5. Now a dialogue box will appear as shown below.
   
6. Click on Change NVRAM files and select Database file from the stock ROM  folder as shown below.
   
7. Click on Upload from flash.
8. Provide IMEI of your phone in IMEI section. If you dont know what was the IMEI number of your device then you may find it on your mobile box or just open the back cover of your phone, you will find the IMEI number printed on backside.
9. Click on Download to flash.
10. Click on Load flash.
11. Remove your smartphone from PC and dial *#06# and it will display the IMEI of your smartphone.
12. Enjoy! you have successfully fixed IMEI on your Smartphone.

• First thing is to download the above mentioned two files and then save it to your SD card.
• Reboot your phone into the recovery mode.
• Tap on Wipe<< Advanced Wipe<< select Dalvik, data and cache and then swipe to flash.
• Go back and tap on install, locate the downloaded files. Select the first file of lineage OS and then swipe to flash.
• After the flashing is completed, go back and flash google apps with the same method. Flashing the G apps will take around 5 minutes.
• When the flashing is done, tap on reboot system.
• Your phone will start installing the lineage OS ROM on your Redmi Note 3.
  
  
  

• When you reboot your phone, you can find a new boot animation which is pretty decent.
• You have got the new theme manager. Long press the home screen and swipe up to access the new theme customizer. The best feature of this Lineage OS is the protected apps, Just select the apps which you want to protect and it will be hidden from the app drawer, you can access the hidden app by coming to protected app section and tap on that arrow mark.
• The status bar is quite similar to that of cyanogen mod as both of them are based on Android N.
• Go to settings and then to buttons and enable the on-screen navigation keys. This feature was previously available only on nexus devices.
• Lets go to display settings and here tap on display size, you can adjust the display size to your liking.
• You can set various actions to your home screen button such as long pressing the home screen button will open the search assistant and double tapping the home screen button will lock the screen.

• Double clicking the power button will open the camera, default camera has a problem with video recording. It does not record any video. This issue can be fixed with the 3rd party apps like google camera or open camera.

Disclaimer: I have tested this method of unlocking the bootloader with Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3s and Mi 4i and succeeded in it. I hope this method will work with other Xiaomi Devices as well. You should perform the task at your own risk as unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty. I am not liable for any damage.

1. On your phone, open settings << Additional Settings << Privacy << Device Administration << Android Device Manager and enable it.  
2. Go to MIUI Unlock Page and sign in with your MI Account.
3. Provide your details and apply for permissions
4. You will receive an SMS within 5 days for unlocking the bootloader.
   
   
   
5. After receiving the reply, dont do anything for next 5 days and wait for another 5 days.
6. Extract the downloaded MI Unlock Tool.
7. Open MI Unlock Tool and log in with the same MI Account that you used for sending the permissions.
8. Power off your phone and press volume down key and power button at the same time for 10 seconds and your device will boot into the fast boot mode.
9. Connect your phone in fast boot mode to the computer.
10. Click on unlock on the MI tool and the percentage goes from 0 to 100.
11. Soon your will receive a message on screen saying "Congratulations Unlocked Successfully".
